It allows you to use your computer and allows it to react to what you do.
Okay let’s talk about windows here. I have the my computer icon. If I double click it or rather just before a double click it. Let me talk you through some basic mouse terminology for windows. When you left click you click the left mouse button and you can’t see anything here. But I’m doing that now and it’s important to differentiate between left click and right click. If I right click which means I click the right button on the mouse often something different happens. And generally when you right click anywhere within Windows XP ISO you get what’s known as a context menu.

Where you get menu options that should be relevant to what you’re currently doing you can see that one of the options for the context menu for the desktop is arrange icons by name size. Type in someone that’s the difference between left clicking and right clicking. So I left click this icon you generally left click on things to select them. So if I left click on my computer to select it. Or I left click on recycle bin to select it. Or left click once on. Firefox to open it. Okay, left click once on the start menu to bring that up.
And if I left click once on turn off computer. Do I want to turn off the computer. No. I’m going to left click on cancel. And we’re back. Now if I left click twice here in quick succession. Let me show you that if I left click here. Nothing. Click click. Click click. But if I click click here that’s a double click and that generally opens up what you’ve clicked on as in this case. So let me close that. And do it again. I’ve double clicked. And it opens up the my computer icon.

Okay this tells you what hard disks you have. I have two hard disks CND. And it tells you how big they are so one is approximately fifty gigabytes and the other is a hundred and four gigabytes. Then it shows you removable storage. I have a DVD drive in memory stick. Windows XP iso Ensuring folders. Plus there are some options here but I won’t go through them now. Basically it let’s say I now want to explore my hard drive labeled see. Now this is quite advanced so I won’t go into depth here. But I’ll quickly talk you through the motions of it. So if I left click once on it I selected. And you’ll see that it brings up more detail about it here.
Windows XP iso And if I left click once on the D. drive that select it which just means that it brings the focus to it if I double click this so click click it opens up the C. drive and it tells you exactly what the contents of the C. drive far but as you can see it’s not the easiest thing to read so I won’t talk you through this at this time and it’s not ever really necessary that you understand what all this means unless you want to dive into the nitty gritty of windows XP. Okay let’s close it and left click once on the X. in the top right corner. Now out of interest let’s right click once to bring up the context menu on my computer.

So that brings up the context menu by right clicking the my computer icon. And you see a number of options. I can open it again which is the same as double clicking on it with the left mouse button. All right now this area it is what is known as a window it’s effectively a container for information and options. Importantly there are generally three options here.
There’s this. And if you hold your mouse over it to see what it is it says minimize. This one is restore. And actually if you hold your mouse over here and left click once again. And left click again to bring it up again. So that’s minimize. And when a window and once again this is a Windows XP ISO when a window fills the screen it’s known as maximized its maximize to fill the screen.
Windows XP ISO- Then we can restore which basically means change the size of the window to make it smaller than the entire screen if I left click once on restore.: That’s what restore does it changes the size to make it smaller than the size of the screen. And now you can see that this is a window. If I click and hold with the left mouse button on the top here. Then I can if I’m still holding the mouse down then I can move it around. I can move the window around. That’s click hold and drag as it’s known.
Windows XP ISO -Okay if I right click it will bring up the context menu again so again this is a left click click hold and drag. And I can move it. If I let go of the mouse button it stops moving it.And now we have the three buttons. You can restore it
again. And maximize it again. And restore it again and the last button as always is to close.

Click click and again we can move it. We can maximize it.And interestingly many of these options are also available here this little icon in the upper left corner if you click it once with the left mouse button you bring up a little menu and many of the same options are here restore minimize and close. If I left click on the file menu you get relevant options there.Or whatever options Microsoft believes are relevant to a menu called file.
Windows XP ISO – Now I don’t need to click anymore I’ve taken my finger off the mouse button once the menus are up you can just move the mouse from one menu to the next and I’m still not clicking and it’s allowing me to go through the menus if I want to make a choice. For example let’s say in the file menu and close. And click once and he closes it. And it’s gone from the task bar again as well. Okay double click with the left mouse button again to bring up my computer. Click click. So these are menus this bar at the top is generally call the title bar. As you can see it tells you what you have opened my computer so these are menus. This is the title bar. Top left you can left click and control the Windows XP ISO.

Windows XP ISO And also here are the three options. Let’s restore. Left click. And we restore the window to a smaller size. Okay now these are often known as toolbars often you’ll find the menus have all the options available in a window and the toolbar has short cuts to adjust some of those options. For example if I go view and change this option from details to some nails.Left click. See what happens here when I do that.: Select view.Change these to thumbnails. Left click. So it changes the detail view to the thumbnail view which looks quite different. And now here’s another toolbar option for views. If I left click that you see we have thumbnails of selected. And I can change that icons and you’ll see the change left click. Okay.
Windows XP ISO – Then this is the address bar here tells you where you are. In this case I’m at my computer. If I click this hero here it allows me to see what I have in my computer and navigate to it. For example if I want to go to the desktop. And left click on desktop. It takes me to the desktop. Okay I just wanted to talk you through a window a window is effectively a container for information and options top left left click and you have the window options there. This is the title bar and you can left click. Old and drag it around.Top right you have the three options. Minimize maximize slash restore. And remember changes depending on the window size.

This is the vertical scroll bar. And you can either click hold and drag or you can use the arrows at the top and bottom. If I click on the top with the left mouse button it moves me up. It scrolls up if I click on the bottom arrow with the left mouse button here it moves me down. And here right arrow left mouse button click click click. It scrolls me across so those are the scroll bars as you can see I can’t see the entire window pane here because the weather was quite small the scroll bars allow you to see all the window.
Windows XP ISO- As an alternative of course you can maximize the window again so you can see everything and then the scroll bars disappear because you don’t need them anymore. Okay let’s restore again. And finally you can actually re size windows if you don’t want to have your window maximized you can re size it. At the bottom right you can see how your Mouser turns into a two headed aero. So click with the mouse button. Golden drag. You can resize the window pretty much any way you wish I’m holding the left mouse button and just moving the mouse. it’s resizing.
I can click hold and drag the title bar up to here. And then go back to this corner and left click and hold and continue resizing. And there it takes up almost the whole screen but you may find it easier just to maximize the window.
